Backsplash and Other Things....

Here are a few pictures of the new backsplash and granite together...but since I'm obviously not a great photographer...I didn't do it justice. It looks so much prettier in person. Trust me. :)

On another note...yesterday I found the CUTEST jars with wooden handles at Big Lots(of all places) and thought they would be perfect to hold snacks for the kids....

And as I started thinking about how proud I was of my cute new jars...I realized that I may have a slight obsession with them. So my curiosity  got the better of me and I started looking around....
Somebody make me stop.

jar as soap dispenser #1

hanging mason jars with candles

jars for stamps

jars for crayons....and more stamps

jars for blocks

jars for sugar and flour

jar as soap dispenser #2

jars for teacher gifts

jars with shells

jar as soap dispenser #3

jar for snacks #2

jar for coffee

empty jar?????

bigger jar for blocks...because one is not enough

And because if I hear the words..."I'm hungryyyyyyy" or "What's for dinner?" one more time....I might run away...I came up with a plan. I wrote it down...so all I have to do now is point to the door with the chalkboard paint. Problem solved. :)

We're half way through the week! :)

Kegs and Naps

Yesterday I was reading Bob Books with Hutton and we came across this page...

To which Hutton replied..."Hey! They have those at the winery".
After I composed myself...the first two thoughts that came to mind  were....
1. I would smiling like that also...if I had a whole barrel of wine to myself.
2. Maybe I shouldn't be taking my kids to a winery.... ;)

So, we continued reading and lo and behold, look what was next.

I'm not sure "nap" is the correct verb.
Maybe the "keg" had something to do with it. ;)

Here is to everyone getting a little drink from the keg and a quick nap today! Happy Tuesday! :)

B.U.S.Y.

April and May are sooooo busy for us...but it seems that this year has been over the top. We have been going non-stop and I am just about ready for a break....although it won't be much of a break...because we only have seven more days of school and I will have NO free time until August! But...I'm not complaining....seeing as I will be parking my hiney at the pool EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
Anyway....the past month and a half we have been busy doing this....

My cousin came to visit from Las Vegas for FOUR days...and I managed to get ONE picture of us. ONE. As in UNO. And I took my camera with us everywhere we went. But here it is in all its glory.

After she left, I had to drive to Chattanooga and pick up the kids, come back home, and unload all of my lower kitchen cabinets so my counter tops could be ripped out and hauled away.

Which meant that we didn't have a kitchen for a week, our bathroom turned into the place we washed dishes, and I cooked on the floor.

I had a yard sale to finally get rid of Hutt's baby clothes and some other things I had lying around the house...and wouldn't you know...we had the hail storm of the century...which promptly caused Brian and I to take whatever measures we needed to to get the cars into the garage. Apparently that meant running over everything I had laid out all nice and neat...hours of planning and organizing and pricing. :(

Our new counter tops and AWESOME HUGE sink were installed...yipee!!

The next step was picking out the right backsplash...which was much harder than I thought it would be...but we DEFINITELY made the right choice...

Then came Easter....

Lainey turned ELEVEN(which I still can't believe) and my parents came for a fun weekend visit.

Lainey hit two home runs in one ballgame and got the game ball!!

Hutton likes to water my flowers in his new favorite uniform...which seems to be underwear and boots only.

I attended a Mother's Day Tea at Hutton's school...which was PRECIOUS!

Brian's parents came up for a visit to celebrate the kids' birthdays and Mother's Day. Note to self...when it is "Mother's Day"...it might be a good idea to take a picture of yourself and your KIDS. :(

Lainey finished up her softball season...

Hutton turned FOUR...and wanted the same ice-cream cake that I made for Lainey. Apparently his candle looked so pretty, he thought it was edible. HA! Chili's was his choice for dinner, the balloon man made him a birthday hat, every present he received was for outdoor play, and the new sandbox was a major hit! We even opened presents outside!

And last but DEFINITELY not least, we choose our backsplash and had it installed. I smile EVERY time I walk into the kitchen. But that picture will have to wait until tomorrow...because this post has gone over its limit for photos! ;)

Have a wonderful Monday!
